Victor Adeboyejo's late equaliser earned Bromley a point in a 1-1 draw with Cambridge United on Saturday. The substitute's powerful finish nine minutes from time cancelled out Ben Knight's opener for the visitors.
Ben Knight had put Cambridge ahead in the 67th minute, finishing calmly after a cross-field pass. Bromley goalkeeper Shamal George was kept busy throughout, making important saves from Knight and Isaac Heath in the first half. He was forced into action again after the break to deny Heath, with Kamarl Grant clearing the rebound off the line.
Bromley manager Andy Woodman adjusted his team's shape in the second half to match Cambridge's approach. The tactical switch helped the hosts gain a foothold and they found their leveller when Adeboyejo, who scored the winner at Barnsley last week, smashed the ball into the top corner after Cambridge failed to clear a loose ball.
"We showed real character to come back," Woodman told reporters after the match. "To get something from the game after going behind is a positive."
The result means Bromley have taken five points from their first three games in League One. They remain unbeaten in their inaugural campaign at this level.
Cambridge United dominated possession for large periods but could not convert their chances into a winning goal. The draw also extends their unbeaten start to the new season. Bromley's next match is away at Shrewsbury Town on Tuesday evening.
