Bromley have moved to strengthen their defence by signing experienced centre-back Adam Jackson on a free transfer. The 32-year-old arrives after leaving Lincoln City earlier this month, bringing extensive Football League knowledge to a side currently 19th in League One.
Jackson spent six years at Sincil Bank, making 179 appearances for the Imps across all three EFL divisions. He came through Middlesbrough's academy and has also had spells with Hartlepool United, Barnsley, and a stint in the Scottish Premiership with Hibernian. The club has not confirmed the length of his contract.
The move addresses a clear need for defensive solidity. Bromley have conceded 18 goals in their opening seven league games, a record they will be desperate to improve. Jackson's arrival provides a seasoned option at the back as manager Andy Woodman looks to stabilise a team whose recent form reads one win, one draw and three defeats from the last five.
Jackson will be available for selection ahead of the next fixture, a trip to face Milton Keynes Dons on Saturday. His experience could prove vital in a key period for the Ravens, who sit just above the relegation zone on eight points.
