Bromley's National League match against Yeovil was abandoned after 11 minutes on Saturday after a medical emergency in the crowd saw a supporter sadly die later in hospital. The match kicked off early at 12.30pm on Saturday as it was scheduled to avoid any clash with a potential England World Cup clash. It was initially paused in the sixth minute to allow a medical team to help with the situation. But the match was stopped again five minutes later and the decision was taken to abandon the fixture 50 minutes later, at around 1.30pm. A statement from Bromley Football Club read: 'We wish to express our sincere gratitude to the supporters who flagged the incident, medical teams of both Clubs, as well as Doctors within the crowd who assisted stadium paramedics until the ambulance crew arrived and transferred them to hospital.' Yeovil added in a statement: 'From all the playing staff at Yeovil Town we send our thoughts and prayers to everyone involved in the incident at today's game.' The club announced that the fan had sadly passed away and everyone at Bromley Football Club is deeply saddened by this news. Bromley Football Club extended their heartfelt condolences to the supporter’s friends and family. The medical emergency occurred during the match and the referee halted play due to the incident. The match was later abandoned and an investigation is likely to follow. Bromley were just 11 minutes into the match when the referee stopped play. The crowd was shocked by the incident and the match was eventually abandoned. The fan who died was taken to hospital but sadly passed away. The incident occurred on Saturday, December 3rd, and the club has asked for privacy for the family of the deceased. The National League match between Bromley and Yeovil will be rescheduled at a later date.
