Bromley, the League Two leaders with 87 points from 46 games, will host Ipswich Town in the Carabao Cup.
What's at stake?
The match is a huge opportunity for Bromley to test themselves against a stronger opponent. CEO Mark Hammond said: “We’re all excited. Ipswich are a massive club, a huge club. They have got a brilliant history.”
The journey so far
Bromley has come a long way since playing in the eighth tier of English football in 2004/05. They earned promotion to the National League in 2015 and finally reached the Football League in 2024/25. Their recent form has been WLDLW, with a last result of Bromley 3-1 Walsall on 2026-05-02.
The challenge ahead
Ipswich Town, with their rich experience in the Premier League and Championship, will be a tough opponent. But Bromley is ready to give it their best shot, with Hammond saying: “We’re going to embrace and welcome Ipswich. Obviously we’re going to give it our best and try to win the game.”
The exposure
The match will be live on Sky, and also shown in America, which is a huge exposure for Bromley. Hammond exclaimed: “It’s like the Disney World experience, walking through Disney World where you’re like, ‘oh my god’.” The 5,000-seater stadium at Hayes Lane will host only 497 away fans, but the energy is expected to be electric.
