Bromley Football Club have unveiled a new temporary stand at Hayes Lane, naming it in honour of a late supporter. The Dave Roberts Stand was opened ahead of the club's first home match of the League One season, adding 178 seats to The CopperJax Community Stadium.

Bromley currently sit 8th in the League One table with four points from two games, having scored two goals and conceded one. They are just two points behind early leaders Bradford City. The stand's debut coincided with a 1-1 draw against Cambridge United.

Dave Roberts was a dedicated Bromley supporter and a member of the Bromley Boys. He passed away in November 2021. Roberts authored several books documenting his experiences following the club, including The Bromley Boys, 32 Programmes, Home and Away and The Long, Long Road to Wembley. His writing captured the club's story during some of its most challenging periods.

He remained a loyal fan through the club's darkest days. The new stand is seen as a fitting tribute to a man who helped preserve Bromley's history for future generations.

The uncovered Dave Roberts Stand is situated between the existing John Fiorini Stand and the Dave Roberts Tea Hut at Hayes Lane. For upcoming fixtures, tickets for this new section will be sold separately from other areas of the ground. Supporters in Zone 2 will be able to purchase canned drinks from the adjacent Dave Roberts Tea Hut.

The installation provides a useful boost to stadium capacity as interest in the club grows following promotion. It helps accommodate more fans as Bromley prepares for life in the third tier.

The additional seating arrives at an important time. Bromley have made a solid start to life in League One, with a win and a draw from their opening two matches. Their next challenge is a home fixture against Leyton Orient on September 1st. Orient are currently 10th in the table.

This match will be another test for Andy Woodman's side as they look to establish themselves. The club will hope the new stand contributes to a strong home atmosphere. Fans can plan for the upcoming derby and other key games by checking our fixtures schedule. The Dave Roberts Stand adds 178 seats to the stadium's total capacity.

Looking ahead, the tribute is a permanent reminder of the supporters who form the club's foundation. It connects the club's past with its present ambitions in League One.
