Bromley were denied a vital win by a stoppage-time equaliser in a 1-1 draw with Peterborough United. Michael Cheek's tenth-minute strike looked set to secure three points until Vernon Masara scored in the third minute of added time at Hayes Lane.

Cheek put the hosts ahead after ten minutes, finishing from close range following good work by Victor Adeboyejo. Bromley defended resolutely for much of the contest, with goalkeeper G. Smith making five saves as Peterborough dominated possession 69% to 31%. The visitors created 18 attempts but only two were on target, while Bromley managed five shots on goal from their seven efforts.

Bromley started brightly and were rewarded with the early goal. The home side then absorbed significant pressure, with Kamari Antonio Grant receiving a yellow card for a foul in the 84th minute. Peterborough's pressure finally told in the dying moments when Owura Edwards set up Masara to fire home. The result leaves Bromley 23rd in the League One standings with eight points from ten matches, a record of two wins and six losses from those games.

Manager Andy Woodman made a series of second-half changes, introducing Nicke Kabamba, Corey Whitely, Mikel Miller and John Joshua McKiernan in an attempt to see out the game. The late concession means Bromley's recent form reads one draw and four losses from their last five league outings, a sequence that includes a 4-0 defeat to Leicester and a 1-0 loss to Stockport County. They have scored nine goals this season but conceded 25, giving them a goal difference of minus sixteen. They now sit 14 points behind the league leaders, Stockport County.

The point edges Bromley one place above next weekend's opponents, Wigan Athletic, who sit 24th. Woodman's side travel to the Brick Community Stadium on Saturday, October 31st, for a key fixture at the bottom of the table. Bromley will be looking to build on this resilient display and secure a first league win since early September.
