Bromley have sacked manager Andy Woodman after five years in charge. The club and the 55-year-old agreed to a mutual termination of his contract following a poor start to their debut League One campaign, which sees them 22nd in the table with just nine points from 11 games, having scored only 10 goals while conceding 26.

Chairman Robin Stanton-Gleaves confirmed the departure. "I would firstly like to offer my sincere thanks to Andy for all he has achieved during his time with us," he said.

Woodman's exit comes after a run of two wins from ten league games this season. A heavy 4-0 home defeat to Leicester City last week left Bromley in the relegation zone, a position they still occupy. The club's current standings show them 22nd in League One with nine points from 11 matches, having conceded a league-high 26 goals. Their recent form reads five games without a win, a sequence of no wins, one draw and four losses that includes heavy defeats to Crawley Town and Leicester.

Woodman took over at Hayes Lane in March 2021 with no prior managerial experience. He leaves with a significant legacy, having won three major trophies. He guided the club to the FA Trophy in his first full season, beating Wrexham at Wembley. He then masterminded back-to-back promotions, winning the National League Promotion Final in 2024 and the League Two title in 2026. For that title-winning campaign, he was named League Two Manager of the Year. His overall record stands at 123 victories from 289 matches.

Defender Byron Webster has been placed in interim charge. His first match will be a tough trip to face Milton Keynes Dons this Tuesday. The Dons, who sit 18th, were the team Bromley beat to clinch the League Two title just months ago. The club will now begin the search for a permanent successor to guide them away from danger, a task made urgent by the fact they are 16 points behind league leaders Huddersfield. Bromley's next home game is against Peterborough United, a side they drew 1-1 with last Friday thanks to a Michael Cheek goal. The search for a new manager begins immediately.
