Blackheath & Bromley Harriers sprinter Dina Asher‑Smith has been forced to withdraw from the Glasgow Commonwealth Games. The 27‑year‑old, who has represented Great Britain at major championships, was scheduled to compete in the 100‑metre and 200‑metre events. The decision came after a medical review revealed a lingering injury that could jeopardise her performance and long‑term health. The athlete’s withdrawal was confirmed by the club’s official statement on Monday. Asher‑Smith, who has a history of strong performances for Bromley Harriers, expressed disappointment but emphasised the importance of recovery. The Glasgow Games will run from 28 July to 8 August, and her absence will be felt by the British squad. The club has pledged full support for her rehabilitation and hopes she will return to competition at the next major event.
